Excellence

How do you become a person of excellence?

Excellence is something that is born in the heart of a believer; it is an inner personal conviction rather than a “taught” behaviour.
Christians who exhibit excellence do not seek the praise of men but the glory of God, God’s approval is more valuable to them than that of men.
Daniel, a youth like you was a good example of a person with an excellent spirit, Dan. 1:8 say “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies…”
Joseph is another youth like you who was relentless in his pursuit for excellence despite his various trials. Despite being a slave the bible describes Joseph as a prosperous man and that God was with him. Take some time to read Genesis 39 and Psalms 105:17-2. Regardless of circumstances God expects us to carry out all we do with a spirit of excellence like Daniel and Joseph.
Phil. 2:14-16 says “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding forth the Word of life…” As believers, we are to always put in our best in all we do so that our light can shine to the world.
Our Lord Jesus Christ was an example of serving the needs of people with excellence; he was fully committed to serve to the point of sacrifice. Mark 10:45 says “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and give His life a ransom for many.”
No one can lead you to excellence as your creator can! Hence look to the Word day and night (Josh 1:8), Jesus Christ is the Word (John 1:14) If Jesus himself is the Word and He is made unto us wisdom (1Cor. 1:30), then we can conclude that true wisdom is the Word of God. The correct application of the Word of God (wisdom) will produce excellence in all we do.
1Peter2:9 NKJV says “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light.” We are set apart to show people the virtues of God in all we do.
To achieve excellence there is always a price to pay. A person of excellence will pay whatever price it takes to get the job done God’s way. You will pay the full price for excellence; it is never discounted. Daniel was a very good example he never compromised (Daniel6).
